It all started when...

Pleasant House Bread is a bakery that celebrates real bread by using local, organic grains that we mill ourselves onsite with every batch. Our breads are naturally leavened and baked in our wood-fired oven, yielding lovely, complex flavor and texture. We also make rich croissants and other viennoiserie as well as delicious, naturally leavened doughnuts.

Want the peace of mind in knowing that our brilliant bread will be ready for you, when you want it? For a set price of $25 plus tax, paid before the beginning of each month, you can pick up one variety of bread every week on a predetermined day (Mondays OR Saturdays).

To begin your bread share, simply sign up for our bread mailing list HERE. We’ll send an email before the beginning of each month with simple payment instructions. You’ll have the option to buy a Monday or Saturday bread share. It’s that easy.

Pick up your bread at Pleasant House’s bread bakery, located at The Plant, 1400 West 46th Street in Chicago, on the day you selected for pick up. Bread is available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Walk through the front door and follow the signs up to our space on the second floor.You will receive the assortment of our bread offerings (one loaf of each of the five) throughout the month.
